United World College of Southeast Asia. Math olympiad medals, national debate titles, and notebooks full of doodles that were definitely not lecture notes.
Math at CMC, computer science at Harvey Mudd
Graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors theses in both. President of the 5Cs Art Council, serving public art to 8,000 students. Won the CMC Math Art Competition two years running and the Harvey Mudd CS department art prize. Co-founded the Claremont Accelerator, which raised over $2.6M for student startups.
Machine learning for the bugs
Automated the labelling of insect feeding waveforms with ML, published as peer-reviewed, NSF-backed research. Tiny electrical signals, real consequences for crop protection.
Quant research summers
Systematic equity research and alpha signals at Graviton Research Capital, trading data pipelines at Chicago Global. This is where the math earns its keep.
Columbia, twice
M.S. in Computer Science (machine learning), now an M.S. in Financial Engineering. Research assistant at the AI for Vision Science lab, building assistive tools for low-vision users and diagnostic support for eye clinicians. Also TA for the Innovation and Design Lab, teaching prototyping to 40 students.
